Ceramic Car Wax

Waxing your car is a great way to preserve the paint job.  It also saves energy!  My favorite is the new ceramic car wax.  It’s very easy to put on and lasts 2-3 times as long as the old paste waxes.  It’s a liquid, so you just spray it on and wipe it with a clean cloth until the haze is gone.  The first time you use it, you put 2-3 coats on to be sure you have full coverage.  Then you just wax again whenever water stops bleeding up on the hood (every 6 months or so).

I live in an area with a lot of air pollution, blown north from the Atlanta metro area.  That pollution has killed many hemlock trees around here, and seriously diseased countless other trees.  Folks scrub down their house roof every few years, to nix all the black much that settles out of the air.  Pollution can be acidic and can do serious damage to the finish of your car.  Wax is a must!

Keeping your vehicle clean and waxed reduce air resistance as you drive down the highway.  That means 2-3 MPG better.  You can also put a window treatment on the windshield to further reduce air resistance ~ water rolls right off at highway speeds, so you don’t have to use windshield wipers much, if at all.
