Assign a Lighting Implementation Director

It’s key for management to show a formal recognition of, and commitment to, lighting-efficiency standards. Since lighting renovations are long-term undertakings involving incremental improvements rather than one-time fixups, lighting upgrades can lose momentum unless the whole process is subject to quality oversight. The initial act of the director should be a survey of all facilities, accompanied by the maintenance staff.

Then the educational process begins, of understanding light levels, fixture types, and the lighting needed for various activities. This ongoing process inevitably leads to an interest in upgrading lights with more efficient lamps when they burn out.
