Visit my 2002 HTML Bar X Software website, exactly as it was back then. The apps still work as well as ever.  You can download them here as .exe or .zip files. (Note: You may have to click on the executable file as Admin and enable the Windows compatibility mode.)

All these are FORTRAN programs.  The GUI was made using Winteracter.  They all act like spreadsheets: as soon as you update one field and move to the next one, the calcs are updated.

When you unpack the .zip file, execute the .exe file.  It will set up the program and add a menu icon in Windows.

Thermo-Stat – Ver. 2.0 for Windows now available

ArchiTech – Ver. 2.0 for Windows now available

This is another really simple program. It does annual building loads. You spend a few minutes inputting data on a building, and the program calculates the annual energy use. Then you can change a window to double paned or put a light color roof on, or shade one wall with a tree, or paint the building a light color; then find out how your bills will be affected. Absolutely no engineering or construction experience is required. This is the same as Energy Auditor 2.0

ArchiTech – Ver. 4.0 for Windows now available

The program does the same annual building loads as version 2.0 but lets you get into all the gritty details. You spend a few minutes inputting data on a building, and the program calculates the annual energy use. It does the same calculations but allows more refined inputs. There is a separate screen for each building element that gives the annual energy costs associated with that element alone: glass, roof, walls, infiltration, floor, and misc. loads. The program has a world wide weather database. It was used to do energy audits of a dozen small hospitals for the Texas Lone Star Program, the largest energy conservation program in the world ~ so you can be confident the results are rock solid. This is the same as Energy Auditor 2.0

JLoads – Ver. 2.0 for Windows

This is a program to do residential peak heating and cooling loads, by the Manual J method. It’s simple to use and gives valuable insights into the loads attributed to each building element. The calculations include a heating and cooling load for each zone, as well as heating and cooling cfm’s.

Luzifier – Ver. 2.0 for Windows

This program uses the standard Zonal Cavity method to calculate average light levels in a room. You can see from just one screen many different things: change the wall color, or the color of the carpet or ceiling tile – and see how the light level is affected. You can try out many different types of fixtures and lamps too.
